Woodland
Classroom

Our woodland classroom was built in 2022 with the intention of creating a space where people of all ages could reconnect with nature through Bushcraft, outdoor learning and other general well-being activities.  It is home to the Melrose Scout Group and used by local schools and community groups.

  • 2 outdoor classroom areas
  • Holds up to 30 children
  • Electricity and cooking facilities
  • Separate toilet

Contact the Estate Office for more information.

The site contains an open sided covered classroom that can hold up to 30 children. It has electricity and cooking facilities as well as a separate toilet.  In addition there are two outdoor classroom areas.

The first has benches surrounding a firepit thereby creating an informal learning area where children can learn whilst sitting around a camp fire.  The second area is a more formal learning area with seating on picnic benches for 24 children.

The classroom’s woodland setting means that there is plenty of space for exploring, building dens and studying the Estate’s trees, plants and wildlife.

The woodland classroom is available for hire by local schools and community groups for outdoor learning activities.
