Interpretation panels at Old Melrose

Our six interpretation panels have been inspired by a desire to help visitors connect with the wonderful nature at Old Melrose. They look at Pollinators, Minibeasts and Trees and discuss their importance and the challenges facing them. The panels also look at the importance of conservation work by examining what can be done at home to help and what is being done at Old Melrose. The final panel explains the importance of different habitats in a balanced ecosystem and how they fit together to create the biodiversity that we need.

Woodlands at Old Melrose

On the Old Melrose Estate we took the decision three years ago to move away from Commercial Forestry plantations and instead focus on managing our woodlands for nature, biodiversity, habitat improvement and maximum amenity value.
